As a survivor of both childhood abuse and adult relationship abuse, as well as a certified advocate, Julie brings both personal insight and professional experience. She has completed hundreds of hours of specialized training in domestic abuse, trauma recovery, and batterer intervention – and has led numerous recovery groups for fellow survivors.

Julie is deeply knowledgeable in a wide range of abuse-related topics, including (but not limited to): recognizing the signs of abuse, knowing when and how to seek safety, setting healthy boundaries, supporting children who have witnessed or experienced abuse, co-parenting with a controlling partner, courtroom antics of an abuser, and guiding spiritual leaders on how to respond to abuse.  Julie has been recognized for her expertise and has served as an expert witness in family and criminal court cases related to domestic abuse.

Her approach is grounded in empathy, education, and the belief that healing is always possible. Humor is included for no additional charge. :-)
